I am so happy it's Friday. The week here in Nashville started out beautiful and warm. By yesterday that had changed completely and today followed suit. It's like fall popped in overnight and is here to stay. While I'm happy that the leaves are changing beautifully, I am not liking the chillier temps or the fact that the past two days have been rainy! Yuck! But enough whining! It is Friday after all and there is nothing wrong with that!
It's been virtually quiet around here (accept for an update on my 26 before 26) but today I wanted to share my new branding materials. As visible from my branding past (seen a little bit here, here, and here), I have kind of a hard time designing for myself. My business (which was started on the side as basically a hobby) has gone through many stages, including two name changes and multiple color schemes and today, this is where I am. I love the brown and blue and think I have finally come up with something that not only satisfies my love for delicate and vintage elements such as burlap, linen, and lace but also that caters to my fun and playful side. I'm not saying that this look is here to stay, but I am saying that it says who I am and what I want Paisley Card Co. to say to former, current, and future clients!
Happy weekend! :)
Last month I purposed a list to myself of 26 tasks to complete before my 26th birthday. I figure one good way to make sure I stay on top of it and complete everything on my list is to check in once a month until my deadline. So here we are, exactly one month later and I thought I'd share my progress with you! :)
01. Send a card just because.
02. Start doing a Bible study! Anyone have a suggestion of a good one?
03. Lose 15 pounds.
05. Do a 7 day detox.
06. Go to the dentist.
08. Make more fabric flower necklaces.
10. Finish my DIY window project.
13. Re-do the wording for Button Baby's Etsy listings.
14. Finish my photo wall in my living room.
17. Give more handmade Christmas gifts than store bought.
18. Make button art.
19. Make crock pot apples.
20. Make my own laundry detergent.
21. Make 5 recipes from my yum yums board.
22. Go see Wicked.
23. Raise money to support a friend's adoption process!
24. Settle on a church here in TN and continue to go regularly.
25. Spend more time with my little sister Katie.
26. Be happy!
That's not too bad for the first month! Hopefully 5 months is plenty of time to complete the rest! :)
Another week has come and gone! Crazy how fast it flies by but I am so thankful the weekend is here. I have some very dear loved ones coming in to town for a visit and we're going to have so much fun! I just wanted to pop in and wish you all a fabulous weekend and share a little sneak peak of the children's alphabet print I have been working on for months. Yes, I said months. Not quite sure why it took so long to complete but it's finally finished and I love it. I can't wait to share the final version after print! If you missed anything around the blog this week here ya go: Trends in Pumpkin Decorating, My Newest Infontuation, and a Custom Design for a Giveaway Winner. Hope y'all have a wonderful fall weekend! See you on Monday! :)
Happy Wednesday, y'all! (I just love saying that word - so fun!) I hope your day is off to a good start! Here in Nashville it's cold and rainy which is hard to stomach because yesterday it was beautiful, warm, and the perfect window down weather! But it's supposed to warm back up and the sun will be shining this weekend!
I just wanted to stop in and share the birthday invitation I designed for our giveaway winner, Ashley, back in July. Her daughter was turning two and she couldn't decide on a theme so she decided to go with bright + fun colors. The giveaway was for custom design only, no printing, and Ashley opted to print the invites herself (which is always an option for Paisley Card Co. clients). I think they turned out super cute + Ashley was happy with them as well - which is most important! Hope Amiya had a blast! :)
I am obsessed with typography. I can't even decide what I want for dinner at a restaurant because I am constantly checking out their type choices and critiquing the menu to no end. It's a sickness, really and My Fonts is always there to fuel my addiction. The latest craving? Mishka by Fenotype, a "classy upright script". When I first laid eyes on this whimsical script on the My Fonts homepage, I knew it was love. My infontuation only grew deeper after seeing this tribute to Steve Jobs by Fabulous K. It's a must have addition to my never-ending list of fonts!
Well, y'all. I have finally surrendered. I have officially said goodbye to summer and am ready to embrace fall wholeheartedly! In the spirit of fall, I am searching for fall decorating inspiration. This year anything but carved pumpkins is trending which I happen to love because truth be told I don't have the time, patience, or motivation to go through the mess of cleaning out/carving a pumpkin. As always, there are countless inspiration images over on Pinterest and I can't wait to start decorating!
Here are just a few of my favorites:
Hopefully I get around to tackling one of these very soon! If I do I'll be sure to share! :)
Happy Monday, Loves! :)
