Today, we're participating in a link party over at Fabulous K!We've enjoyed being introduced to some new blogs & look forward to meeting new viewers! :) Head on over to see what it's all about! Thanks Kelly, for hosting the link paty!
This was an especially fun project to work on considering it was for my adorable nephew. I can't believe he is already two. It seems like yesterday this little miracle came to us 2 months early. (See Nathan's 1st Birthday invitations here.) Nathan is going through a Mickey Mouse stage as I assume many 2-year-olds do so it was no surprise that it was the theme for his party!
The party was at Marions - lots of yummy pizza & a great time with family! We ordered cupcakes from AmyCakes & they were of course delicious! Thanks again, Amy! The best part of the whole thing I'm pretty sure is Nathan's attire! He showed up dressed to impress in a mini tuxedo. Too cute!
Nathan's actual birthday is tomorrow. Ah, it brings a tear to my eye to think how far this little big guy has come! Happy Birthday, Nathan Paul! So thankful for the joy you've brought into our lives! :)
March has not been the best month for me as far as blogging goes! I have done a terrible job keeping up with it! I love blogging and every day I think about something I want to blog about but things come up or I'm exhausted when I get home from work, etc. etc. Anyway, enough with the excuses! It is the middle of March and I have let 3 (well 4 if you count Paisley Card Co. but you can read about that here) very important birthdays go by without a single word! Last year I dedicated a post for each person on the day of their birthday - but this year, we are going for the short version!
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY ALICIA, JENNY, & HALEY! These 3 ladies are so important to me and we have been through so much through the years and have so many wonderful, happy memories! We are currently living in different parts of the WORLD, but it has never changed the way I feel about any of them! I know all it takes is a phone call (or Skype sesh) and these 3 would be there. I truly am so lucky to have them in my life! Love you girls, thank you for being such great friends!
My good friends and neighbors, Brian + Linley have just welcomed their newest bundle of joy - child #4 but finally a boy. Braylon Eugene Douglas is as precious as his three older sisters. Brian and Linley really do make the most adorable babies. The Douglas family is one of my favorites to design for. You can check out some other things I've done for them here, here, here, and here.
Here is the announcement I did for Braylon. How cute is that picture? :)
Things have been pretty busy over here at Paisley Card Co. I've been working on getting the online shop up and running - when I'm not at my "day job" - and have been designing lots of pretty new things for purchase. We've added a new product category, prints, which are now available here at Paisley Card Co.
Fruit of the Spirit is the first print available for purchase. I was inspired to make this print after my first missions trip to Haiti. The children (& the people as a whole) possessed the most wonderful qualities, and I felt they represented what the Fruit of the Spirit is all about.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Just a few more days until you can purchase this adorable print directly off of the Paisley Card Co. website but until then, contact Stephanie to order yours today! :)
Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend! I just wanted to stop in and share with you guys the birth announcement I did for returning customer Kate (I did 1st birthday invitations for Will's big brother Ben). Isn't he just adorable? :) Congratulations Kate + Dan!
I can't believe that I let our birthday pass by without the slightest acknowledgment! Which is slightly reminiscent of our first birthday, only a little bit worse since it's March! Two years ago , this past February, I was in college and decided to stay in on a Saturday night. (I know, what a loser, right?) While playing around with my Creative Suite, I got to thinking! Why don't I start my own business? I could create all kind of adorable things - invitations, save the dates, business cards, etc. I originally started out with the name SNC + CO. It was short, simple, and used my initials. I didn't really love it but I was anxious to get the word out about my new venture. Anyway, a few months later, I decided to change my name and that's when La Bella Vita Designs came about. This time I thought I had put more thought into it and I really loved it. But as you can probably tell, that didn't last for long! In November of 2010, I switched my name for the final time. Paisley Card Company was born. I decided to change for a number of reasons but mainly because I wasn't something simple and easy for people to say + remember. This little blog has come a long way since the first post, but still has a very long way to go! I hope through this next year it becomes a place of inspiration for anyone who visits.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me + continues to support me! It means more than you know! Happy Birthday Paisley Card Co. I love you + can't wait to grow old together (you'll be paying all of the bills if all goes as planned ya know!)
As I said yesterday, I am turning 25 this month and I wanted to make a list of 25 things I want to do before my birthday! Some are from my 101 in 1001 list and some are from the hundreds of to-do lists I have all over my planner! I love making lists but have a hard time following through, so this is my attempt to be better at that!
By March 26, 2011 I hope to have crossed everything off the following list:
01 - Send a card, just because.
02 - Get my nose pierced again.
03 - Buy a lottery ticket.
04 - Start doing a bible study.
05 - Get a massage.
06 - Make Jenny a new blog design.
07 - Take care of my dot com issues for Paisley Card Company.
08 - Design & print business cards for Paisley Card Company.
09 - Start running again.
10 - Start process to get deposit back from landlord.
Disclaimer: I as the creator of this list + the soon to be Birthday girl, have the right to add, delete, omit, edit, etc anything I see fit without being held accountable. :) (Ah, the perks of having your own space on the web to say + do whatever you want!)
Here we go again. Another start to another month that is sure to pass us by even more quickly than the one before it. I don't think I will ever get used to how fast time goes by but it does, so I better enjoy it before it's gone! That being said, I'm so excited it's March! It's one of my favorite months - for all sorts of reasons:
It's my birth month. The big 2-5 this year.
It brings Spring!
This year March 13th is Daylight Savings. Longer, brighter days - yes!
Normally, I have a spring break during the month of March. For the first time since I was 5 years old, I will not be blessed with a week of absolutely nothing to do/vacationing somewhere fabulous. I will be working. I keep telling myself that this is a blessing - and it is, because so many people are without jobs so I am thankful. (Oh, sidenote - I got a raise! GO ME!) But man, would a trip to Mexico do me well this month!
Something that usually happens in March is Kenny Chesney comes to town and we get to celebrate our birthdays together. By that I mean, we were born on the same day and I go to his concert, but whatever. Anyway, no plans for a Kenny concert either!
March will just have to be fun in other ways. Like I said before, I'm turning 25 - in exactly 25 days so tomorrow I'll be posting a list of 25 things I want to accomplish before I turn 25. They won't be life shattering things but they will be lots of "to-do" items from my 101 in 1001 list as well as the many "to-do" lists I have all over my planner. One goal is to definitely make more time for blogging! I love it so much but just could not find the time to do it very often in February. So we'll see how that all goes! Should be a fun + hopefully productive month!
Sorry for this longer than usual + extra wordy post but one more thing before I go! In my last post I shared this guest bedroom from Young House Love and they made a few small but huge changes so I wanted to share an updated picture! I still absolutely love it + feel so inspired by it! Nothing too major was changed, but the room looks even better!
Well, that's enough for today! Check back tomorrow for my list of 25 things to do before my 25th!
